Bummer as I like Lea but I guess now we can get the "best guy possible" hopefully with deep roots in Texas/SEC Country.

Climbing the ladder (position coach to defensive coordinator).

More money (has to be getting a pay bump from this promotion).

Avoiding a move and subsequent disruption for his family (check).

Sounds like an easy decision to me.

Saw that current Ole Miss coach Bradley Dale Peveto MIGHT BE GETTING SOME INTEREST as a candidate to move to Fisher's ataff.

Interestingly, at most every stop in his career--lots of time at LSU where it appears he may have coached when Fisher was there--he seems to have most often coached LBs AND BEEN the special teams coordinator. Hummmm...

Seems to have done quite well coaching both groups...

Here's an interesting bit about him--should you be interested in checking out a guy whose name just popped up tonight in a quick note from Liucci:

Let's take a step back and look at what is happening with the hiring of our new coaching staff.

The closest parallel to what I am seeing is the assembly of Jackie Sherrill's coaching staff.

Everyone of the hires is an ace recruiter. Everyone of them is either a rising star or a recognized center of expertise at either offensive and defensive shenanigans or recognized as a superb position coach with a trajectory and path of excellence.

Dang, I am just beside myself. I just can't wait to see what happens in the Spring Drills.

One thing though, I think Jimbo and company has more to work with on the talent side of the house than Jackie did when he came on board. I expect the trend line on our future success to be very steep.

I also bet that people in the BDF, SEC West, and ACC are thinking "Dammit, look at what you've gone and done"

Wow just WOW.

Cotton:

Are you saying that you and Bret Bielema have something in common?

(Diehard sports fans will get the point).

The 12th Man site still shows us lacking a linebacker coach and S&C coach. As this is supposedly the official A&M athletic site, do we indeed have these two positions filled? Who controls the site? If any of you guys have any contact with the Athletic Department or the coaching staff, could you ask them this. It just doesn’t look as professionally done as an Aggie site should be. I’m sure some high school coaches are wondering why as well.

I don't know that they have been officially announced, as yet.

Coach Peveto has been very ill. He may have had a bit of surgery and is recovering, I am not sure.

I imagine they want to make the into videos and when they release those they will put their names up.

Coach Peveto is not names in any of the recruiting updates that pop up on many sites...

It's being reported that we are trying to get Eric Henderson (D Line assistant with the Chargers) to replace Montgomery.
